STRANDED, the entry level 'Unusual Soldiers' training camp, is coming back this summer the end of July for 3 to 10 more students (age 18 to 25ish) eager to make an impact on the world. Join this facebook cause if you would like to be kept up to date on the details and keep an eye on for details that should be posted under ventures this Friday.

The last group took on the week like soldiers. Time will only tell how the next group will hold up.

Mickey, one of the students said that he came to Stranded because he had cruel friends. The outdoors was by far not his favorite thing and by the end of the first night he said that he was ready to go home and that really wanted to punch me in the face. I was honored by his comment because I assumed that meant I was doing something right. The night was full of shivering, headaches, and exhaustion. After his breaking point he was forced into a leadership position at 3am. The fate of the team would be determined by his leadership in the midst of his frustrations. He did it. For the next 45 minutes he led the team with excellence. Throughout the rest of the week we saw him attempt things that he had never done before with confidence. As the week went on it was amazing to watch his courage grow in Christ as well. By the end of the week he even joked about wanting to move to Nebraska.

So what kind of trials did Mickey go through? There is only one way to find out. Join us.
